FLAMES TACKLE COACHING INFORMATION

The Lake Zurich Flames Youth Football Organization has been a part of the community for 50 years!  As one of the area’s top football and cheer programs, we are committed to teaching fundamentals.  This includes sportsmanship, teamwork, cooperation, fair play, character building, and above all else, FUN!  Uniquely, we are an all-volunteer program, including our coaches.  Every year we ask that anyone who has interest in supporting their child and the rest of the players in our program to register to be a Flames tackle coach.  You do not have to be an ex-athlete. You do not have to be a master at Xs and Os.  All you need is the desire to help kids grow!

We need coaches at every playing level this year.  This includes our flag football program and our tackle football program.  Tackle and Flag coaches must pass a background check and ONLY TACKLE coaches will be USA Football certified (we will provide details when you register) and attend an on-line Positive Coaching Alliance seminar.

Our Coaching Committee will be available to provide guidance with practice plans and playbooks.  Additionally, there are an abundance of assistant coaches staffed at each level.  Please consider becoming a head coach to help ensure that all of our players get the best football experience possible.  If you do not have a child currently in our program but are interested in head coaching, please reach out!!  If you are already registered as an assistant coach but would like to head coach, please express your interest.

WHY DO I HAVE TO REGISTER TO COACH?  HERE ARE THE REASONS WHY WE REQUIRE THAT ALL COACHES REGISTER EACH AND EVERY YEAR:

  1. Organization:  In most instances we do not know who will be coaching at a particular level and it helps the coaches committee place, train and prepare our teams for a successful season
  2. Monitoring:  We developed part of the registration to make sure that everyone that coaches is cleared to be around children.  This helps us get an idea of who you are, so that we can assure parents that we have competent individuals spending sometimes more time with their children than they do.
  3. Transparency:  Assures that all individuals at every level have an opportunity to coach;  The last thing we want in our coaching program is the the label, "Good ol' boy network."
