Lake Zurich Flames "Sparks" Flag Football Mission and Goals

The Mission of the Lake Zurich Flames Flag Football  – called the "Sparks –  program is to provide the opportunity for area boys and girls between the ages of six and seven (cannot be eight years old before October 1) to learn the fundamentals of football and participate in an organized, fun, safety-focused, competitive program with participants of similar ages and sizes. 

The Sparks’ players and families are the key to the continued growth and success of the Lake Zurich Flames, and it's our goal that all players learn the great game of football, have a great time and desire to return continue their football experience with the Flames.

 

What to Expect as a Sparks Player and Parent

Participants will have fun in this developmental, yet competitive, program. 

  • Players will compete in a safe environment and will wear all safety equipment that is provided by the league
  • Good sportsmanship will be maintained and emphasized
  • All players will have playing time at all positions through out the season
  • Games are held at Knox Park
  • Coaches who are there for the purpose of teaching the fundamentals of the game in a positive only manner
  • Seven regular season games, plus a Championship Tournament


As an organization with the goal of teaching football so that players and families alike learn to love the game of football, here's what we expect from the families of players:

  • Good sportsmanship on and off the field by all
  • Provide a positive environment for the participants to learn and play the game of football
  • Each team is required to have volunteer chain workers for half of their game
  • Open and respectful communication of  ideas that may improve the program with our organization
  • Players are ready for games and practices at designated times provided by the Head Coach
  • Protective cup, mouth guard and cleats will need to be provided

Flag Fees

2011 Flag Fees are as follows;

$150 Registration

$50 REFUNDABLE deposit on equipment.  A check is collected but only cashed if the provided equipment is not returned.
